Hey guys, i have a 92 dyna super glide custom (fxdc). Took it to work the other day about 20 miles, half way there it lost all throttle and died. Started right back up and did fine, until the ride home. Did it 3 more times on my way home. Was told it may be the tank sealant flaking or the mesh filter on the petcock clogging. Drained it and checked all that, tank looks perfect inside, no clog from tank to carb. Petcock, hoses, all looks fine. I strained the fuel it looked fine. Kinda lost, hoping someone else has had some experience or similar issue. Its the 88 inch evo motor, if that helps. Thanks in advance all!

A typical symptom of a failing ignition pickup. Remove the 'points' cover and inspect the ignition pickup for melting. If it looks melted it's failing.
Unless it has been bored, it's a 80 cu. in. engine. It won't help your problem. I have the same bike, and agree that the ign. pickup should be checked. Also, look where the wires from the pickup exit the cover for chafing.
The only things ive done to it is smoke signal lenses, daybright headlight and smoke led taillight. Ill look at the ignition and see what i find and let you all know. Thanks for the info. I really do appreciate it

Glad we could help...............even though I don't know crap, I was here for moral support. I was gonna tell you to check the air pressure in the tires. Seriously though, happy it all worked out for you. There's some good people in here that know some things because they've seen some things.
