HD sells a mini floorboard (that can fold and fits on normal bracket), and kuryakyn has a really fat, almost floorboard style peg too.

 

HD also has some mini-boards that fit a peg mount in their 2010 catalog

 

Just put them on my ride...the boards were 89.00 plus the chrome kit for when you fold them up they look good were 239.00 more...damn...where does it end huh??

Do not allow passengers to wear shoes. Burnt skin is 95% easily removable then rubber.

I'm probably crazy but I thought I saw some extensions for that.
Might consider one of those clamp round the pipe chrome shields too.

 

didymuss, do the boards just bolt in place of the stock passenger pegs? They just use the one bolt to the frame?

 

The bracket bolts right to the frame with one bolt...I have some pic's for you but can't figure out how to put them in this post..

Didymuss, thanks for the effort but I stopped by the dealer on the way home and priced the parts and I guess when someone actually tells me how much this is going to cost it makes more of an impression than reading about it :faint. I'm getting why they're called 'stealers' on here. Just too much cash!!! I'm going with Dave's suggestion and have them ride barefoot or go to aftermarket parts.

You could solve the problem by removing the passenger seat and pegs and ride solo lol
